The story of (cor)age begins here.

The strength of a community is only as strong as its youth.

Our mission is to unlock the potential of underserved, trauma-impacted students by removing non-academic barriers to learning and creating a school-based community to harness the power of prevention.

Forest Cove Behind the Headlines (11/30/23)

Over the past four years, COR has been deeply involved in supporting the families affected by the historic Forest Cove relocation, having initiated our efforts when our nonprofit was founded.

In collaboration with other dedicated organizations and a local video production team, we proudly present three compelling videos that delve into the heart of the Forest Cove relocation, a monumental effort that saw nearly 200 families find new homes last year. This series offers a unique perspective, sharing stories and experiences that may not have been covered by local news outlets.

COR has played a pivotal role in assisting 17 families and 119 individuals throughout this challenging and oftentimes discriminatory experience. Join us in exploring these powerful narratives by watching the linked videos below – stories of resilience, community, and the unwavering spirit of those who faced adversity head-on. Your understanding and support make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve.

Before It All Changed

Years ago, Forest Cove Apartments was a safe, quiet community. Former tenants remember when that changed.

The Relocation Effort

After a judge condemned Forest Cove, a number of nonprofits, led by the Community Foundation and the City of Atlanta, rallied to relocate and support the tenants. It was an effort rife with challenges.

What's Next?

Behind the Forest Cove headlines are families with hopes and dreams. What’s next for these families, many of whom have been relocated throughout metro Atlanta? What does it mean to start over and imagine a new beginning?

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world"

- Harriet Tubman
